Tom Campbell is a professor of economics and a professor of law at Chapman University, in Orange, California. Previously, he was a tenured professor of law at Stanford University, a tenured professor of business and Dean of the Haas School of Business at Berkeley, and Dean of the Fowler School of Law at Chapman. He was a California State Senator, where he was rated the best overall state senator, the most ethical state senator, and the best problem-solver in the state senate, by the California Journal. He was a United States Congressman for five terms, author of the Peace Corps Reauthorization Act and two resolutions voted on in the House of Representatives to require Congress, not the President, to decide whether America should go to war. He was Director of Finance of the State of California, preparing and administering the state budget of over 100 billion dollars. He was also a US Supreme Court law clerk, a White House Fellow, and Director of the Bureau of Competition of the Federal Trade Commission. Tom and his wife, Susanne, live in Orange County; previously having lived in Temecula, San Jose, and the Stanford campus. Tom holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago and a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard.
